In my life, there are 3 principles i hold dearly.

1. Human wants are unlimited - this phrase i first heard abt 10 years ago when i was in college. It really tickled me about how simple (yet true) it is. It means we can never be satisfied and we will always want more. This is a natural thing, and rather than to resist it, we should learn to accept it. Greed is not bad, ambition is not bad, it fuels society and it is important for progress, tenacity and improvement.

2. Want nothing and you achieve Nirvana - this comes from buddhist teachings and it basically means be content with what you have and you will have peace and happiness. This basically contradicts the first principle, but then again does it? Sometimes we must know how to be happy with what we achieved, to look around and not take important things for granted. We are all lucky to have everything we do already and everything else is extra. From the song of Sheryl Crow, "its not about having what you want, its about wanting what you have." This can bring you comfort in your most dire times.

3. Take what is good, reject what is bad and then, add your own - this phrase comes from Bruce Lee, to me, what it means is that first, know and find out all that is done, understand it and then use your own style and creativity to adapt and improve it to your situation. It is about constant adaptive learning. It also implies a lot of research which means we have to be knowledgable.

The Hidden Principles - if you take and read carefully the 3 above principles, you will realise that when used in different combinations with each other, they can produce very interesting implications. I myself haven't fully grasped its full implications yet, well, thats what makes it so interesting.
